Red Moon Architect Kuura Album Review

Kuura is the fourth album by Finnish funeral doom band Red Moon Architect. This differs tremendously from their last three records. Raw, unpolished, and unforgiving.
Kuura part 1 starts us off with witchhamner like drums and a slow and forlorn agonizing atmosphere. Has a early black metal like production, the improvised vocalizations sound like souls being eviscerated in hell itself. But the music is absolute funereal beauty. It breaks down to droney guitar with synth in the background. This is one of the most unnerving records ever created.
Kuura part 2 fades in with sinister cosmos like synth creating the bleakest, desolate atmosphere. The synth created cosmic wind with the eerie notes send chills up the spine. The soundscapes created paint a horrid image in your head.
The final piece, Kuura par 3 starts off with a very solemn synth. Embracing the beauty of death. Incredible vibes and musicianship. Cascading guitars and the graveyard fog synth creating melody. Forlorn improvised vocalizations are both scary and depressing all at the same time. So beautiful, so raw, so depressing. A fantastic piece of art.

Scimmie Di Mare is the latest full length release from Italian Surf band Atollo13, and it is fun from the moment it starts to the end. Reminiscent of The Eliminators and the Blue Stingrays and The Shadows, there's some groovy and gnarly tunes here that you can dig unless you're a square. Trappistone is the beginning intro, complete with the old vox keyboard and reverb drenched fender guitars in all their Cali sun glory. Such great musicianship here. Linda Linda the first song with vocals, they sing in Italian, but it sounds right. It's a wonderful song. It's crazy to hear perfect top notch surf music with Italian lyrics, but I must say it's better than alot of stuff around today. It sounds fresh out of a pier in the early 60s. Sunn0))) Pyroclasts review

The twin album to Life Metal is here. Sunn0)))'s latest Pyroclasts was a living, breathing record alongside the recent Life Metal release, coexisting on the same master tapes as well. Recorded once again by the great Steve Albini, this record is easily as sublime,  if not more so than its twin album Life Metal.  We start off the journey in soundscape with Frost, some eerie hymn like feedback. Then come some crushing guitars out of the sky. This sounds darker than their previous record, but the auras are sinister and haunting.  Kingdoms starts off in the same way but no feedback. The vibes on this record are absolutely fucking intense. Dark,yet invigorating. Like ablack sun shining its dark rays on you. Sucks you in like a black hole. God damn. Ampliphædies continues in a similar vibe, but this riff is fuckin heavy. Dead Witches-Ouija (2017) review

Dead Witches are an amazing, crushingly heavy, psychedelic, stoner doom band. With legend drummer Mark Greening(Ex Electric Wizard, With The Dead,  Ramessess) along with vocalist Virginia Monti(Psychedelic Witchcraft), Carl Geary on bass, and Greg Elk on guitar, sadly Elk passed away in 2016. The album is absolutely superb, definitely one of the best records of the year. The production is amazing, the songs are great, and the fucking riffs are orgasms for the ears. The album starts off with the sound of rain, and a storm, and a haunting bass riff, followed with some organ and guitar feedback, setting a very dark mood. and moves into the song Dead, which starts off with a fantastic, fuzzy riff, and the drums kick in, and this song rides on the groove of this riff, building and building, as Virginia opens her beautiful, haunting vocals, its very powerful.
