Rückwater Bonehead EP Review

Hailing from Scandanvia, Rückwater's debut EP, Bonehead, is a fantastic stoner rock EP, similar to Graveyard, but with some neopsychedelic vibes.
The album kicks off with the awesome, heavy, powerful Once More With Feeling, it's pure old school hard rock. Zeppelin like vocals,
and grooves. The riff is so fucking massive and intense. No Gain has an almost a trippy punk/grunge rock vibe, fast paced, and frantic.
Fantastic vocals, and frantic. Labrynth has a pure blues vibe. Clean, warm sounding guitars start it off. Almost an Alice In Chains vibe.
It's definitely a unqiue, good mix. Great lyrics, great mood. Not one song sounds the same on this record, and it still ties
in and works so well. It picks up in the middle with a Soundgarden like riff, and get nice and heavy and upbeat, and slows down for a nice, light, fluffy euphoric cloud like outro. the riffs on
this record are fucking awesome. Super Frustration is an intense, short burst of literally pure aggression, kind of like
punk rock Metallica. It's great, though, it only lasts 1:16, but it definitely hits you like a brick to the head. Bonehead starts off with a groovy distorted bass,
and a great late 70s hard rock vibe returns, and its a great sleazy rock n' roll song, and a fantastic guitar solo with wah. Flame Doesn't Cast A Shadow is pure neopsychedelia,
and slightly proggy. The quality of the musicianship and songwriting in the band are absolutely exceptional, and extroadinary. Especially for a brand new band.
To make all 6 of these great tracks completely in polar opposite styles, and flow so great is insane. The band literally has eclectic tastes, and makes them all work
in a great way. The last half of Flame Doesn't Cast A Shadow is a nice, mellow, hypnotic, euphoric outro. This is one of the best, and most talented new bands I have heard
in a really long time. Inventive, and exploritory.

Sadartha Growth EP Review

Sadartha's third release is the ep Growth. With slightly better production than the last two albums, the band drops most of the hardcore punk influences going for a pure grunge sound. Opening track Emptifull has a sweet groove in the verse and explodes on the chorus. The band seems to have found their footing hear. Jangly muddy guitars, pulsating bass, and frantic but precise drums. Is it 1992 again? Aconitum starts with a watery sounding guitar riff. So slow and vibey. This is like Nirvana's Nevermind meets Alice In Chain's Jar Of Flies. So dark, so sublime.  Eclipsing Binaries sounds upbeat.a lazy day with a joint in the sun with nothing to do is what comes to mind. Really good song. Nice melodies. These dudes are definitely on the rise and just get better. Sacred Scorcher has such an awesome groove. Hearing a little Mudhoney influence here. Then the guitars distort and it's a train barrelling down the tracks at 110 mph on fire. It's fucking great.  ...

Sunn0)) Life Metal Review

Sunn0)) is either band you love or hate, and their latest album Life Metal is pure droney goodness. The empowering yet dark ambient vibes suck your soul and stir it around through these four long epic pieces of pure sonic art. Reclrded and mixed by Steve Albini, their eighth record is pure drone. And an album title that is a contrast to 'doom and gloom', one of my favourite albums this year. This album has a maternal twin album coming called Pyroclasts soon. Between Sleipnir's Breaths starts off the journey. Haunting vocals by Hildur Guðnadóttir, fantastic. Life Metal comparatively more upbeat tone with brightness and a symphonic vibe compared to the rest of Sunn O)))'s discography that stems in part from Anderson and O'Malley being content with their personal and creative lives. Its still fucking heavy mind you, just less hopelessness. Troubled Air comes next on this journey of ambience. You can feel the morning sun peeking through dark ancient clouds. Won...

Quiet Riot Hollywood Cowboys review

Quiet Riot's latest album Hollywood Cowboys is a fantastic old school melodic hard rock album, something the band has always done excruciatingly well no matter who was in the band. The riffs, the hooks, it'll drive ya mad.  The album kicks off with the awesome riff of Don't' Call It Love, a pure sleazy rocker. James vocals are great, I never understood the hate. Killer. Next up is In The Blood, with an  awesome groove. Very vibey. Very AOR. Not a bad thing. It picks up for an epic, powerful chorus. Very vampyric. The band itself is on fire. Just energetic and fun to the bone. As it should be. Heartbreak City is pure 80s hard rock. Has a groove similar to Deep Purple. A hook out of this world. Definitely sleazy. The Devil That You Know is a fast paced rocker, galloping like a wild steed while your getting shot at. And yet still has amazing hooks. Being an outcast ain't always easy, but with anthems like this it makes it easier. Change or die has a heavy...
